Calm, Confident & Conflict-Free (C3) Youth Initiative
The Etiquette Series: Calm, Confident & Conflict-Free Youth Initiative (C3 Youth) is a 12-month, trauma-informed youth development and violence prevention designed to serve youth who reside in designated Restore, Reinvest, and Renew (R3) communities. The program addresses behaviors and conditions that commonly precede youth violence by strengthening emotional regulation, respectful communication, conflict resolution, confidence, positive social identity, and future orientation.
C3 Youth combines weekly group-based instruction with structured off-site field experiences and etiquette dining opportunities. These experiences are not treated as recreation alone; they are supervised practice environments where participants apply social etiquette, self-control, de-escalation, teamwork, and accountability in real-world settings. Mental health education, mindfulness, restorative practices, leadership development, and consistent mentoring reinforce the program’s early-intervention approach.
The program is grounded in the belief that violence prevention must begin before a crisis occurs. By helping youth pause, regulate, communicate, and respond rather than react, C3 Youth interrupts the pathway from stress and disagreement to retaliation, physical conflict, and gun-related harm.
